Winter in my Backyard

In light of all the unusually heavy snowfall in my part of the world, I decided to try to explore the yard a little to see if I could find something of interest in the ordinary world around me.It's amazing to me how snow can sometimes transform something very   ordinary into something of beauty.

Japanese Eden

Japan? Not quite.Actually it's quite far off.
This is the Nikko Yukko  Gardens in Lethbridge ,Alberta Canada. A little pocket of paradise  in the Prairies.
Fall is my favourite season and I was lucky enough to visit in the fall and see the garden in all it's colourful glory.

Hoodoo Forest

What can I say about these shots... Ancient Indian battle grounds=Very cool.
Writing on Stone Park in southern Alberta. I have been to a Drumheller a lot . Saw the Tyrell museum and the little church.
It's a very cool place and well worth a visit but as far as Hoodoos go,
well .. this is the place.
It's an endless forest of Hoodoos down in a valley and has a river running through it . It"s like a whole different world .As I photographed them I could see the history in this place and imagine what it must have been like many moons ago.
